The Fantasticks 2022 [Luisa]

(They/Them) is a Southeast Asian multidisciplinary artist and activist based in Philadelphia. They received their BA in Theatre from Rowan University in the Spring of 2021. They also attended the National Theatre Institute in the Fall of 2020. During their time at Rowan, Caitlin devised and directed two pieces focused on sexual assault awareness; 00:00:73 (Feb 2020) and One in Five (April 2021). Caitlin was welcomed back to Rowan in the Spring of 2022 as guest director for their production of 21 Chump Street, and earned the National Merit Certificate for Direction from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Recent performance credits include Into The Woods (Barrington Stage Company), Circle Mirror Transformation (Eagle Theatre), Folk Tales In The Glen (People’s Light), Alice: Not Your Child’s Wonderland (EgoPo Classic Theater).

Tommy Balne

Tommy is excited to be once again lending his creative talents on stage for this production as his presence is felt most often on the production team off the stage in every previous Masquerade production. Seen last spring on this stage as Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Tommy has performed throughout the area for over 15 years in such roles as Exit Interview (Dick Fig), The Fantasticks (Henry), Black Stache (Peter and the Starcatcher), Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka), Ian (High Fidelity), Albert (Bye Bye Birdie), Schroeder (Charlie Brown), Richard Hannay (The 39 Steps), and Eddie (Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?). Ever grateful for the love and support of his partner in life, Megan, and his kids who graciously put up with their parents’ love of theater.

Tim Herman

The Fantasticks 2022 [Hucklebee]

Tim Herman is very excited to be making his Masquerade debut with this show. Born and raised in Cinnaminson, Tim spent the last few decades living in California and NYC teaching Theatre at various Universities and most recently, teaching 1-5 graders in NYC. He is also an audition coach and has had many clients appear on Broadway and Nat’l Tours. He’d be happy to name-drop for you after the show. Favorite credits include Sparky in “Forever Plaid”, Fred/Petruchio in “Kiss Me, Kate”, Malvolio in “Twelfth Night”, Mike in “Oil City Symphony” and Harold in “The Boys in the Band”. Tim also spent 6 summers appearing in the “The Lost Colony” (Terrance Mann, director) on the Outer Banks of N.C.. His directing credits include: “Batboy; the Musical”, “The Cider House Rules, Part 1”, and “The Fantasticks”. He attended Montclair State University and Florida State University and is proud to say he saw The Fantasticks a few times during its original, record breaking run in NYC. Thank you, Megan. (He/Him) is a multifaceted artist based in Philadelphia. He holds a BA in Theatre from Rowan University. He also attended the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. He regularly coaches Camden Catholic High School’s Shakespeare Troupe. Previous credits with Masquerade include The Fantasticks and One Fifty Four. Next up: Assassins (City Theater Company) “For Ed.”

Shawn O’Brien

Shawn made his directorial debut with Laughter on the 23rd Floor earlier this year here at Masquerade. You may also remember him from Masquerade’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile, The Fantasticks or their New Works series production of PJs Playbook in 2022. Before that, he was Ebenezer Scrooge in Burlington County Footlighters production of A Christmas Carol & has been a local actor for over 30 years. First & foremost he wants to send his love & overwhelming gratitude to the Balnes, especially Megan, for giving him this opportunity. He would also like to thank his family & friends for the loving & supporting way they love & support him. Lastly, he would like to sincerely thank you; the patron. Without you, there is no us. Jen Ponton

Exit Interview 2023 [Mrs. Meredith/Ensemble] | The Fantasticks 2022 [Mortimer]

Jen Ponton returns to Masquerade after joining her college friends, Megan and Tommy, for THE FANTASTICKS. Her performances with Masquerade ushered in a return to the theater after she last performed off-Broadway at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, and she has since made a career in film and television. Also a writer/producer, Jen just released her interactive horror experience CARETAKER on TikTok/Instagram/YouTube Shorts @caretakerfilm. Later this year, catch her on Starz in the upcoming series THREE WOMEN.

Scott Reynolds

Next to Normal 2023 [Dan] | The Fantasticks 2022 [Bellomy]

Scott is very happy to be back on the Masquerade stage, having had so much fun playing Belomy in last year's The Fantasticks." He has been active in professional and community theater for almost 4 decades. Although Scott was (in his younger days) fortunate enough to have performed in several national and international tours, he now enjoys a simpler life in Barrington with his family and teaches in the Berlin Township school district. Scott would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew of Next to Normal. Working with them has been a wonderful, one-of-a-kind experience. Finally, as always, he would like to dedicate his performance to his son, Walter.

Returning to the Masquerade Black Box Stage has been an amazing experience and getting to work with this amazingly talented cast and production team has been fantastic. Rebecca was last on stage at Masquerade in The Fantasticks as The Mute. She was also in Small Mouth Sounds (Alicia, Footlighters), The Importance of Being Earnest (Cecily Cardew, Footlighters) and Significant Other (Kiki, Footlighters). Rebecca is grateful to the entire cast, CB, and Tommy and Megan for their love and support. A huge thanks to her husband, kids, and many friends who make it possible for her to continue to act and be on stage while caring for her family and working.
