All camps and productions take place at our Masquerade Theatre Studios in Riverside, NJ.

 

Summer Musical Camp

Musicals Camp featuring Mary Poppins, Jr. - (June 22-July 18, 2026) - Ages 7-15

 
  • Camp runs 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, June 22-July 18 (2026)

  • Camp is extremely flexible, with options for all 4 weeks, individual weeks, or individual days, or half day (morning or afternoon).

  • We will have a 10 minute showcase at 2:30pm on Fridays at the ends of Weeks 1, 2 and 3 with full performances of Mary Poppins, Jr. at the end of Week 4 on July 17th at 3pm and 6pm and Saturday, July 18th at 3pm and 6pm with a possible Sunday, July 19th at 3pm if needed.  (To participate in the full performances of Mary Poppins, Jr. students must participate for the entire week 4 at minimum.)

  • 1 week campers [$300] will learn parts of Mary Poppins, Jr. and perform in the showcase at the end of their week.  If participating in Week 4, they will perform in one or two numbers in all performances of Mary Poppins, Jr. at the end of Week 4.

  • 2 & 3 week campers [$550 & $750] will perform in the end of week showcases as well as the full performances if their weeks includes Week 4.

  • All 4 week campers [$900] will perform in all the end of week showcases as well as the full performances at the end of Week 4.

  • Individual day or half day campers will also participate in learning numbers from Mary Poppins, Jr. and will get an opportunity to perform in the showcases at the ends of Week 1, 2 and 3 or in a number of Mary Poppins, Jr. at the end of week 4 if they accumulate enough experience hours in camp to do so.  Even if they are only here for half day one day, they will have fun while they are here playing and learning with other students!

  • Campers will need to bring comfortable clothes and shoes that they can move in, a water bottle, lunch if they will be here all day, and a snack.

  • When registering for 2 camps or youth productions (either 1 student multiple camps or multiple students same camp), the cheaper will receive a 10% discount.  Registering a 3rd will receive 15% and any additional will receive 20%.

  • For every brand new student who references you at registration and pays for the same camp you are also participating in, you both will receive a 5% discount for that camp.

Summer Drama Camp

The Play's the Thing Drama Camp - (July 20-31, 2026) - Ages 5-15

  • Two 1-week camps. 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday, July 20-July 24 (2026), and July 27-July 31 (2026).

  • Camp is extremely flexible, with options for both weeks, 1 week, or individual days, or half day (morning or afternoon).

  • This is a drama camp, no singing required, focusing on fundamentals of acting.  We will have a 10 minute showcase at the end of each week; 2:30pm on Friday, July 24th and Friday, July 31st.

  • [Individual Weeks] $200 per week.

  • [Both Weeks] $375

  • Individual days [$50] and Half days [$35] campers may participate in the end of week showcases if they will be around.  Even if they are only here for half day one day, they will have fun while they are here playing and learning with other students!

Young Adults Production: Alice By Heart

Alice by Heart - (June 22-July 24, 2026) - Ages 13-21

  • Plot: A young girl takes refuge in a London Tube station during WWII and confronts grief, loss, and love with the help of her favorite book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

  • Ages: 13-21

  • Auditions: June 13th 1pm-4pm.

  • Rehearsals: Begins June 22nd. Monday-Thursday 6pm-9pm (All actors may not be called for all rehearsals)

  • Tech: Tech week runs July 18th-23rd. July 18th 2pm-10pm, July 19th-23rd 6pm-10pm.

  • Performances: Friday, July 24th at 8pm, Saturday, July 25th at 2pm and 8pm, Sunday, July 26th at 2pm. If we have enough students to double cast, we will also add the following performances: Thursday, July 30th at 8pm, Friday, July 31st at 8pm, and Saturday, August 1st at 2pm and 8pm.

  • Participation Fee: $425 per student - due upon casting.

Megan Knowlton Balne

Artistic Director

Megan is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Masquerade Theatre. In addition, Megan has a passion for teaching and dedicates her time to the Lights Up Program and Teaching Artists Program as an instructor and administrator. Megan has her Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Ramapo College with a concentration in Directing. Megan has worked with multiple theaters in the New Jersey area in teaching and developing arts educational programs. In addition, Megan is a mom of three and understands the importance of encouraging creativity and artistic expression in children. Megan believes the arts are a central component to educating well-rounded, empathetic, and confident individuals and is thrilled to be able to provide theatre education through Masquerade to the next generation.
