Summer is just getting started at Masquerade! Showcase season returns at the end of the month with our very own Pride Celebration. Join us in the studio June 27th for a one night only performance of "True Colors: A Delightfully Queer Showcase"! Featuring songs from Fun Home, Jagged Little Pill, Falsettos, and even Ride The Cyclone (shameless plug, since auditions for our 13-21 production are the day after!), the evening is sure to close off Pride Month with a celebratory power belt!
Masquerade's Showcase Season is back in full swing this February with the return of our ever popular Valentine's Showcase. This year's theme: Star Crossed Lovers! There's nothing quite so bold, so powerful, so heart wrenching as complicated love. If the tragedy of Romeo & Juliet has shown us anything, there is beauty in loving hard and fast (though things won't end as morbidly in our show!) Featuring music from Alice by Heart, Ordinary Days, Dogfight, and many others, celebrate Valentine's Day and join us at Masquerade Theatre for two evenings of lovely local talent.
Sneaking into the spooky season, our next showcase theme is here to save the day! But perhaps some performers have other schemes to play... On October 19th at 8pm, Masquerade Theatre will host Heroes & Villains: A "Super" Showcase! Witness the protags and antags of the theatre world duke it out for your applause. Will you end up Team #HandsomeHeroes or Team #VileVillans? No matter what team you're on, you're bound to be bombarded by a beloved cast of performers! Join us for two performances full of tricks AND treats featuring pieces from all around the theatre canon!
Performances October 19th at 2pm and 8pm.
As the thrill of summer winds down, what better way to get us all reacquainted with the joy of education than with our next Showcase? "Class of 20XX" is a not-so-educational showcase about life during schooling, showing off all the fun angsty-ness of teenagerdom and young adulthood (don't forget those college years!). Featuring pieces from all generations of education such as "Heathers", "Grease", "Be More Chill", and "Legally Blonde", this showcase is bound to earn an A+!
Performances September 7th at 2pm and 8pm.
The world of theatrical auditioning is brutal. It seems most of the time that the perfect candidate turns out just not quite right. With Goldilocks-esque judgment, the seemingly perfect candidate can be written off for being just a bit too tall, or a bit too short, a bit too big, a bit too thin, a little too old, and not quite old enough. Our next showcase celebrates those Not Quite Just RIght.
Performance August 10th at 2pm and 8pm.
A Classical Cabaret showcasing soaring arias, crisp vocals, and transfixing beauty on a trip through the Golden Age of Broadway and Opera scene.
Performance July 20th at 2pm and 8pm.
Masquerade Small Programs returns for the 2024 season with our annual Valentine's Day Showcase, but this time we're switching up our object of affections! So much time is spent with that SO, this year we're shouting out our best buddies! Featuring "Friendship" of Anything Goes, "Travel Song" of Shrek the Musical, the natural budding friendship anthem "For Good" of Wicked, and many more, the evening is bound to be one for the books!
Performance February 17th, 2024 at 8pm.
