About Viewpoints: Acting Through Movement

This course focuses on the practice of Viewpoints, a training founded by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau that highlights a performer's instincts and relationship to their fellow ensemble members through movement. This is an introductory course where performers can unlock a new part of their skills as a performer through the use of Viewpoints movement exercises. This course will culminate in a final showcase, where the ensemble will share their new skills through a display of Viewpoints exercises. No prior experience needed.

Age range: 13-18

Price: $250

Class Dates:

  • Saturdays 1-4 PM - 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/23, 5/30

  • Instead of having class on Saturday, 5/16, the students will receive a complimentary ticket to Masquerade Theatre's matinee 2pm performance of Company.

Showcase:

  • Saturday, May 30th 3:30-4:00PM the students will present a viewpoints showcase for family/friends.

Instructor:

Reese Pasquarello is an Theater Teaching Artist who recently graduated from Ramapo College with a BA in Theater Directing/Theater Studies. He has previously worked at Masquerade Theatre as Director for Annie Kids and Choreographer for Suessical Jr. As an artist he is passionate about reminding young artists that the core of theater is to play, since that is when an actor unlocks new discoveries.
